Easter at Care Corps

On Easter Sunday, April 8, 2012, we partnered with Care Corps, Hormel, Phelps Vending, Bellevue Christian Center, and community volunteers to bring an Easter service to the Care Corps residents.  We set up a tent in the parking lot, offered a worship service and preached the gospel message of hope along with testamonies from Sandy Valdez, Travis Wiggins, Mark Shrierman, and John Ronin.  At least 20 hands were raised to receive Christ that day.  We offered an Easter egg hunt for the children with 23 in attendance and served lunch for 100 people.  Many volunteers helped tear down and helped serve.  This Easter service was a great success thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ and all serving that day.

March on in!

We have such a great time of fellowship together, and our meetings are always open to the public, so bring a friend. Come and see for yourselves what Gideon’s Army is all about. Hear some fantastic testimonies, share your own testimony, or just simply come to see someone you haven’t seen in a while. We love you and look forward to seeing you there!

Happy New Year!

To God be the glory!  We held our first meeting of 2012 on Tuesday, January 3, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont, Nebraska.  Our main focus was strategic planning of events along with recomendations for the upcoming election of officers and boardmembers.

We meet on the first Tuesday of every month and look forward to seeing some new faces.  Everyone who is interested in our ministry is invited to attend.  Watch our blog for the announcement of our next meeting!

Gideon’s Army continues to seek the Lord’s guidance as we move forward with plans to open Larry’s House, a transitional facility for ex-offenders.

This month is the one year anniversary our late, founder, Larry Juedes going home to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Though we are all saddened by the loss of such a good friend and an all around good human being, we are delighted that Larry’s vision lives on! Jail and Bail Fundraiser 2011

Gideon’s Army held a fundraiser this past summer called “Jail and Bail.” The fundraiser consisted of volunteers from Gideon’s Army who dressed in prison attire and handcuffs, and had their photo taken for the wanted poster.

It was then presented to the public that whoever wanted to bail one of these prisoners out of jail could do so by making a donation to Gideon’s Army Jail and Prison Ministries. Donations received were anywhere from $1.00 to $5.00 to $10 or $20 or whatever they felt they wanted to give.

The Jail and Bail fundraiser started up in August and ended the day of Biker Sunday which is an annual event held at Christensen Field in Fremont, NE. Biker Sunday is an outreach to bikers, mostly, but anyone is welcome to attend, and is hosted by Christian Community Fellowship Church of Fremont, NE and Gideon’s Army has been a huge part of this event, along with the Christian Biker’s Association.

This year’s Jail and Bail Fundraiser brought in more than $1,000 in donations and all the proceeds will go toward the opening of “Larry’s House,” a transitional house for ex-inmates.

Larry’s House

Gideon’s Army is in the process of raising funds to open “Larry’s House,” a transitional house for ex-inmates. We have done many fundraisers throughout the summer months including: A car wash, a lunch and spa at the Lily Pad in Fremont, NE and the “Jail and Bail” fundraiser which ended with the annual Biker Sunday event held at Christensen Field in Fremont, NE.

“Larry’s House” is the name we chose to name the house in honor of our late founder, Larry Juedes.
